Self-Care Garden: In Transition

During the transitional period of my career as a social worker turned therapist, I discontinued my 1:1 life coaching services to focus on my own personal transformation. I was too busy evolving as a woman and showing up for the clients on my therapy caseload, to juggle 1:1 business clients.

Self-Care Garden became my hub for curating small group wellness events for Black women. I co-hosted a few in-person mini-retreats with various business partners, but opted to facilitate the virtual events alone. The mini-retreats allowed me time to focus on my wellness while holding space for other women to learn more about self-care and self-love. This time of change was a necessary shift in my life.

When I wasn't working my job or my business, I started traveling solo to spend time with small groups of friends and to embark on my own personal retreats. I spent so much time in deep self-reflection through journaling, exploring nature, and devoting time to deeper spiritual connectedness.

The shift was a true metamorphosis for me on a professional and personal level. I walked away from my role as a therapist to become a nonprofit director in February 2024. Since then, I've spent additional time exploring the depths of my well-being and improving my circumstances. The exploration forced me to isolate from others, so that I could tap back into my purpose and gifts.

Now I'm ready to step back into my calling as a life coach. My approach to coaching is somewhat different than it was in the past because I'm not the coach I was before. I've changed and my methods have changed.

These days, I'm fully embracing who I am as a Spiritual Life Coach and Spiritual Self-Care Strategist. I did the inner work, so that I could elevate my life, and I'm prepared to help you do the inner work to realize your dreams.

A decade ago in my early days of being a Certified Life Coach, I listened to a daily prayer call. During that prayer call, Pastor Hope of She is Powerful, Incorporated would often say: "You have what you say." I am now a witness that words have power and that faith without works is dead. I'm ready to help you change your confession over your life, so that you can live the dreams that you speak. In the next blog post, I can't wait to introduce you to Self-Care Garden 2.0
